Boxers battle for B.C. Silver Gloves in Prince George

For 2011, the Silver Gloves were hosted by one of the
longest running boxing clubs in British Columbia
the Spruce Capital Warriors of Prince Georgel
Prince George being one of the best boxing locations
in British Columbia for many decades was a welcome host,
Early coaches of the club included Irving and Harold Mann.
Boxing coah Bob Pegues coached for a while until forming
his own club .The current coach, and a member of the
Prince George Sports Hall of Fame is Wayne Sponagle.

Boxing History
The Silver Gloves was debut was in 1943 by VAL ROACH.
In 1960, Harry Twist and the South Burnaby Boxing Club
hosted the tournament and it remained inactive
between 1961 to 1967, then made a great comeback in 1968.
