The 1983 Silver Gloves were held on December 17th. at the
BC Amateur Boxing training centre in Burnaby.

NOVICE SENIOR and INTERMEDIATE (Youth) CHAMPIONS
Bassam Bterrani, Brent Lackie, jason Trottier,
Don Sponagle, Patrick Nelson, Vince Brienza, Andy Gervais,
Michael Taylor.Hail King, Jesse Kaellis, Duncan Murdoch,
Rob Howe,Curtis Mann, Ron Young, Steve McGee, and Thomas Cody.

Other boxers included boxers from various regions of the province:
Some of these included Val Worden of Crofton, and Manny Sobral
of the Shamrock boxing club, Mike Murray, Mike Kennedy, Kit Munro,
Dean Deluca, Terry Dermott, Russ Lyon Ron McQueen, Troy Taylor
Don Galloway, Todd Hatley and others.


One of the interesting finals in the open junior category was a
light-welterweight bout that saw ALAN BROWN of Gold River defeat
MANNY SOBRAL of the Shamrock boxing club. In other action another
good win was the victory by JASON TROTTIER over RAY ABRAHAM.
jason fought out of the Burnaby Boxing Club and Ray was a member of the
Astoria Boxing Club.
